Type Badges
Creating 30 different short saying for a hypothetical ice cream brand is quite a challenge, adding interesting type badges for each of those sayings makes it quite a design challenge.
Softie Ice Cream
It was all fun and games making the different type badges (not really; it was pretty hard), but imagining how the typography could be used in different spaces was one of the rewarding ways to imagine my design in the real world. I imagined collectible stickers that could go on different ice cream orders, window displays, sign imagery and more components that would benefit a brand like Softie!
Turning it into something real
I created a modular type face called PLADS using a grid and different ideas to evoke a futuristic and bold font to be used. I then imagined the font in different spaces throughout an environment.
